What is inside
One original, fictional bottle maker for three lessons of about 55 minutes with Year 12 or 13. Eskwith has one furnace and a contract offer that needs a second.
In Lesson 1 students calculate average cost at six scales, plot the long-run average cost curve, find the minimum efficient scale and sort evidence into economies and diseconomies of scale. In Lesson 2 they find the profit-maximising output with MR and MC, mark diagrams for supernormal profit, a loss that is still worth carrying and a shut-down, and separate normal from supernormal profit. In Lesson 3 they test productive, allocative and dynamic efficiency and X-inefficiency, link them to market structure, compare the options with figures, and write a recommendation of about 180 words with the figure at which the decision would change.
Each lesson plan counts the written work against the minutes; questions that do not fit are named as homework.
- Lesson1
How big should Eskwith be?
Average cost at six scales, the long-run average cost curve plotted on a grid, the minimum efficient scale, eight evidence items sorted into economies and diseconomies, a 70-word judgement.
- Lesson2
Is Eskwith making enough profit to stay?
A cost table and an MR and MC profit table, three diagrams to mark (supernormal profit, a loss while still producing, a shut-down), accounting against supernormal profit.
- Lesson3
Is Eskwith efficient, and should the furnace go ahead?
A two-panel efficiency diagram, X-inefficiency and dynamic efficiency calculations, a market-structure card sort, an option table with tipping prices, a 180-word recommendation.

Questions
What exactly do I get?
A student workbook and a teacher guide for one original, fictional case. Both come as PDF and as editable Word files. The teacher guide has the lesson plans, full worked answers, completed diagrams and indicative guidance for the written tasks.
Can I edit the files?
Yes. The Word files are editable, so you can change the business name, the figures or the questions before you set it. They were laid out and checked in LibreOffice, not Microsoft Word, so you may see small layout differences in Word; the PDF is the reference layout. The download is a ZIP that opens on Windows and Mac without extra software.
Is it a mark scheme, and is it endorsed?
No to both. The teacher guide gives full answers for calculations and tables, and indicative guidance plus an example answer for each written task. It is not an exam board mark scheme, and the pack awards no marks or grades. It is mapped to the specification by section but is not endorsed by Pearson, and contains no exam board questions.
How does delivery work?
