Five company figures corrected. 13 August 2026.

Every number in this pack was checked against the companies' own published results. Five were wrong. None of them is a marking rule, but all five are figures a student could quote in an exam, so here they are in full:

The M&S cyber attack was in April 2025, not 2024, and the £300m is M&S's estimate of the hit to operating profit, not lost revenue. Lost online revenue was nearer £175m.
Wetherspoon's operating margin for the 52 weeks to 28 July 2024 was 6.9% before separately disclosed items, not 3.8%, and like-for-like sales rose 5.1%, not 5.6%.
The JD Sports figures were not the 2024/25 ones. Revenue was £11,458m and cost of sales £5,995m, a gross margin of 47.7%, not 50%.
Tesla announced a cut of more than 10% of global headcount in April 2024, about 14,000 jobs. It was not a 14% cut, and 14% of 14,000 jobs never added up.
Greggs passed 2,600 UK shops during 2024, not 2025, and the 6% flour saving is an assumption written for the question, not something Greggs reported.
